People helping people

Volunteers offer a listening ear, guidance, and referrals to community services. CONTACT offers a caring human voice to someone who is considering suicide, as well as to those who needs to talk when no one else is there to listen.

Crisis Helplines: Volunteers use active listening skills to help callers deal with issues such as domestic violence, relationship problems, loneliness, suicide and depression. The helplines operate 24 hours a day.

Telephone Reassurance: Volunteers make daily calls to the elderly who live alone to check on their well being and call for help if needed.
